Cook Time:

8 minutes

Total Time:

30 minutes

Equipment:

  • measuring cup

  • measuring spoon

  • parchment paper

  • (3) baking sheets

  • (2) medium bowls

  • whisk

  • hand mixer

  • cooling rack

  • spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, softened

  • 1 c. granulated sugar

  • 1 c. light brown sugar, packed

  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs

  • 3 c. all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp. baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • 2 c. chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. Mix the butter and sugars together until well combined.

  4. Beat the eggs and vanilla into the butter mixture until light, about 1 minute.

  5. Slowly mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until combined.

  6. Add chocolate chips and mix well.

  7. Roll cookies into a ball based on how large you would like your cookies, the recipe recommends about 2-3 tbsp. of dough in each ball. Place the balls on the cookie sheets, spacing them evenly.

  8. Bake for about 8-10 minutes, removing them from the oven when they start to brown. They will continue to cook on the hot pans after removed from the oven, so make sure to remove them when they are barely starting to change color.

  9. Allow cookies to sit on the pan for 5 minutes before removing to a cooling rack.
