  • measuring cup

  • measuring spoon

  • whisk

  • small saucepan

  • knife*

  • cutting board*

* if chopping chocolate

Ingredients

  • 4 c. milk

  • 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar

  • 1/2 c. bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped bars or chips

  • 1/4 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Place milk, cocoa powder, and sugar in saucepan.

  2. Heat over medium to medium-low heat, whisking frequently, until warm. Do not boil.

  3. Add solid chocolate and whisk constantly until chocolate is melted and distributed evenly.

  4. Whisk in vanilla extract.

    1. Serve while hot.
