Ingredients
4 lbs potatoes
3 cloves garlic, optional
1/3 c. melted salted butter
1 c. milk or cream
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
Peel and quarter the potatoes and place them in a pot of cold, salted water.
Add cloves and bring water to a boil.
Cook uncovered for 15 minutes or until the potatoes are fork tender. Drain well.
Heat milk on the stove top or microwave until warm.
Add butter to the potatoes and mash. Pour in heated milk a bit at a time while using the masher until you receive the desired consistency.
Season with salt and pepper and serve hot.
