Equipment:

  • 2 oz. jigger

  • measuring spoon

  • lowball or rocks glass

  • spoon or stirrer

Ingredients

  • 1-2 tsp. simple syrup

  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters, or similar

  • 2 oz. bourbon or rye whiskey

  • Orange peel and cherries, optional

  • Ice

Directions

  1. Combine simple syrup, bitters, and whiskey in a rocks or lowball glass.

  2. Stir well.

  3. Add 1-2 ice cubes and stir to chill.

  4. Garnish with orange peel and cherry if desired.
