Ingredients
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. water
1-1/4 c. oil
Filling
3/4 c. Pecorino cheese, cubed
1/2 lemon, zested
Topping
1/2 tbsp. honey
Directions
In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, water, and butter.
Knead for 5 minutes. If dough is too dry, add a bit more water and knead again.
Cover the bowl with the towel and set aside for 20 minutes.
Roll the dough until less than a 1/4" thick and use a glass or a cookie cutter to cut 6 round sections about 2-1/2" in diameter.
Take one of the round pieces of dough and place several pieces of cheese and a punch of zest in the center.
Place a second wrapper on top and seal the outside with a fork. Repeat 2 more times.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
Place the dumplings in the pan and fry on medium to low heat for 3 minutes on each side, or until each side is golden.
Place a piece of paper towel on top of a plate.
Remove dough from the oil and place on paper toweled plate.
Drizzle with honey before serving.
