Sweet Tea

Ingredients

  • 3 family sized tea bags or 12 individual sized tea bags

  • 1 c. granulated sugar

  • Ice

  • Fresh mint leaves or lemon slices, optional

  • 4 c. + 3 qt. water

Directions

  1. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Once boiling, remove from heat.

  2. Dunk tea bags in the water a few times to fully hydrate the bag, then leave submerged with strings over the lip of the pot. 

  3. Steep for 5 minutes, then remove bags and throw discard. 

  4. Add sugar and stir until sugar is completely dissolved.

  5. Pour the tea into a 1-gallon pitcher. 

  6. Add 3 quarts of water and stir to combine.

  7. Refrigerate for four hours minimum.

  8. Add mint or lemon when serving.
